Zinc is a dynamic, leading arts and education charity that believes passionately in arts without exception. We offer inclusive opportunities for SEN people to be engaged creatively, using the arts to encourage people to achieve their full potential and build skills. Zinc works closely with schools and organisations to deliver creative workshop activities to learners, either offsite with the partner organisation or at our Arts Centre in Chipping Ongar.
Our in-house specific UAS Accredited Learning Programme provides creative courses to help participants transition to independent living and even employment.
As a local charity, Zinc also offers a wide range of activities for the local community to take part in, from Youth Theatre, Holiday workshops and Friday Gang for young people, to Bounce, Clubbercise, Pilates and Yoga classes for adults, which are run by qualified local instructors.
The centre is available for hire for events, and we can run specialist birthday party activities for young people which offer a uniquely creative twist for your birthday celebrations, including a pizza-making and movie party in Zinc’s own cinema, a green-screen animation party where we can picture you in a world of your own creations, and more.
Our services can be accessed by all ages and abilities. Whether it’s the local community, other charitable and funded organisations or independent users in need of subject specific deliverance or facility hire.
