Women Like Us Festival with This Girl Can

Join This Girl Can for the Women Like Us Festival

Sunday 7th October 10am – 2pm

Following the success of the This Girl Can Essex Festivals in February Active Essex are delighted to announce details of a new FREE autumn event taking place here at Zinc this October.

The Festival

All our festival events are aimed at encouraging women of all abilities to come and have fun being active. With a range of activities taking place throughout the day we want to highlight the variety of opportunities and activities that take place in the local area and encourage women and girls to maybe try something new. All of the activities will be delivered by experienced and friendly tutors from local community groups.

What’s happening?

  • Participants are encouraged to take part in as many activity sessions as they like. Activity sessions will be filled on a first come first serve basis on the day so we recommend arriving early to sign up for the activities you want to try.
  • Drop in sessions do not need to be signed up to and are available for you to turn up and try.
  • Additional FREE 45 minute workshops provided by Cherry Tree Therapy Centre need to be signed up for on booking.

This Girl Can is a celebration of active women who are doing their thing no matter how well they do it, how they look or even how red their face gets. Funded by The National Lottery and developed by Sport England, we want to help women overcome the fear of judgement that is stopping too many women and girls from joining in.
