Following the success of our 2016 event we are working with even more primary schools this year to commemorate remembrance day at Zinc.
We are going to display a piece of artwork on the exterior of our building, to be created by the children of our community. We will be collaborating with pre-schools and primary schools in Essex to help our vision come to life.
Zinc will be offering schools the chance to take part in half day workshops, with professional artists. During these workshops participants will create an individual piece of art to contribute to our external display. We are combining the art workshops with an interactive historic activity.
The workshop week for schools is scheduled for Monday November 6th to Friday November 10th with morning and afternoon sessions. Zinc will be open Saturday 11th November for public viewing of what has been created.
Zinc would like to thank all collaborating groups and supporters who made the vision come to life last year:
Chipping Ongar Primary School, High Ongar Primary School, Moreton C of E Primary School, Ongar Primary School, Truly Scrumptious, Fyfield Pre School, Poppets Day Nursery, Ongar Kids Club, Holly Trees, Bright Stars, and ABC.
In addition they would like to thank:
Yasmine Lynch, Roy Strutt, Stage One, Jimmy Ray, Jewsons of Ongar, The DIY Store, Lorna Vaux, Ongar Millenium History Society, 3 Great Stony Park, Sonia Cakebread, Grainger and Sue Davis.
